Having cynically championed it as the ‘good war’ – a anti-Bush phoney argument if there ever was one, some on the Left are dreaming of a pull-out; dreaming of an end to the war in Afghanistan. Their failure of resolve would mean the death of thousands and consequences too terrible to imagine.

What hypocrites. The Democrats practically beatified Eric Shinseki when his comments about troop levels contrasted with the prevelant views of his commander George W. Bush. Shinseki was an “American Hero,” and a man who spoke “Truth to Power,” in the best interests of the country. Now the the anti-war shoe is on the other foot, Stanley McChrystal’s response to a hypothetical is “insubordination,” a dangerous reversal of civilian control of the military, and their recommendation for him is to “shut up and salute.” Got to hand it to you – you don’t let facts stand in your way – it’s all anti-war, all the time, and damn anyone or any fact that gets in the way.

Nice going Hussein…scare everyone in New York to death so that you can take $300,000 photos of Air Force One. Oh, and that business about you not knowing…I don’t think anyone who knows anything about the kind of preparations that have to be made when Air Force One doesn’t have its backup believes that you didn’t know. What do you have planned next…a flyby of the Pentagon? The military and security isn’t a joke, but you’re quickly turning out to be one.
